The fact that both the Indians and the Mexicans are creating more babies is not mistake. Despite the strategies by the "health professionals' working in the inner cities and on reserves, we're still proliferating like rabbits. But, think of this, it will probably only be another 10 years at the very least when our bloodlines merge from north to south and south to north. Once I made a promise to my grandmother on her deathbed. She was very desperate that if anything I do in this world I MUST do these two things. I MUST breastfee my babies and I MUST marry an Indian man. Oh well. I made sure and breastfed, well, actually, am still breastfeeding even though she is now four 1/2 years old (but don't tell her friends - she would be crushed). But the point is this. I think my grandmother lived in a time when she saw her own babies die as a direct result of the Indian agent's lack of compassion for another human being. And, therefore, as she got older and more ornery she was proud to let anyone within earshot know that she hated white people. And, this to her, would be the greatest insult, if her own blood mixed with white. Unfortunately, she didn't live to see the whole generation of mixed bloods that she bore. She would have been proud. Ekosi.

By what criteria is the Canadian Native population booming? Increased prosperity? Increasing numbers of people declaring their tribal affiliations and going forward to challenge the white man's status quo? If only I believed that this is what you mean to indicated. As for the increase of Mexican immigration, the "browning" of America is an inevitable and irreversible process. What was stolen can only be kept unrighteously for so long, and then it will be returned to those from whom it was taken -- those who are still left alive to see the day.

The fact that the Canadian Native population is booming makes me question what is being done to ensure that all these young people will have healthy lives with adequate opportunities. Concerns about population group when they voiced in regard to an indivual group always make me fear governmentally supported genocide. The same goes for concerns about immigration.

it's been a cold winter, the housing is the pits, therefore the fact remains that sex is great when it's coldand havew nothing else to do. It must be too hot in Mexico, therefore need to go to a place where they will experience a good time .

I think the booming population of the Canadian Natives is positive and wonderful.

Several Europeans have once said that "Columbus discovered America", but Orvol Looking Horse stated "We were never lost". The Religions of Canada were given the authority to itergrate our children into mainstream society. Since there was a high incident of child sexual abuse and other inflictions of religion the death and infant mortality rates have become the highest in Canada. Our first Nations peoples were never lost or forgotten. We would eventually make a come back. But can we all work together to help keep our populations from dying out again. The skills and programs made available are properly implemented by our own peoples....

I think that it can be fortunate in that the more numbers in population (Native); then they would have more representation. Unfortunately, there is a downside, as with the increase in numbers there will be more problems for First Nations who will have to support/obtain funding for the ever-increasing numbers.

if you are talking about population in terms of the birth rate increasing i think that is a bad thing for any culture, not just natives. the earth already has more people than it can support when our living standards are so high right now. i don't know too much about the situation in the states (oops, i guess that assumes that the mexican immigration is to the states) but it shows that the situation in mexico must be pretty bad if people are willing to settle for america.

making more people is not a solution. there will be no land left for anyone to fight over. I also don't think its a good idea to encourage teenagers to have lots of babies. there are plenty of other ways to stand up for your rights that don't involve poverty and ignorance.

because the canadians are very hot people. because mexicans need a better life not just one dollar an hour wage

Well....I'd consider this a wonderful thing. It means, among other things, that the Caucasian agenda of the past 400-odd years has failed. As for Mexican immigration, the sad fact is that U. S. gov't/business policies toward Mexico have allowed this to happen. If the U. S. gov't had ever been serious about its relationship with Mexico, the economy there would never have become so suseptible to corruption from inside and from U. S. corporate interests.

i think it is a positive change. some may fear it because they think of all the negative stereotypes associated with these "ethnic" sectors of the human race. in fact, it is the law, and the ridiculous practices that are applied to brown people which foster fricction. for example, natives were stripped from their traditional lifestyles, their lands, and their language. In return they were "tought" the ways of the colonizer, but the native identy is made of the toghest steel, and cannot be divorced from his/her heritage. the laws of the colonizer are not always compatible with the colonized people, and it is this conflict which generates some cases where natives practice activities which the colonizer deems imoral. on top of that, the native is not accepted, wether he/she keep thir ways, or "bleach" themselves into the true society (anglo, franco, or espaņola) In guatemala natives are still hunted down and killed. The grandfather of one of El Salvador's presidents, would orginze hunts of natives. add to these the crimmes commited by the non-brown colonizers to the natives of this side of the planet, and we have a massive move against locals. it is a story all too familiar. the etruscans are not around anymore to tell their stories of persecution and ultimate decimation by the Romans. Ignorance is a strong force, and some even call it "bliss" What if took out peoples eyes?? just a thought, anyhow, colonizers are too set in their ways that they believe they are correct. Middleclass and wealthy latin americans speak of other people of color as if they were at par with the dollar or the doitchmark. in my experience, you have to be strong, and work for change, fight for change if necessary. independece is paid for in blood.

a. That is beautiful, and I wish 'them' the best in nurturing and empowering this 'boom'. I don't know the details; I'm also completely uneducated as to the Canadian 'government''s 'treaties' with Canadian Natives. Assuming that the relations are similar to those in the States, I suppose there'd be problems with empowerment that might be exacerbated by increased density of a population that is not permitted to legislatively influence surrounding policies of indifference and oppression. b. As long as it remains irreversible, there is hope. The absurdity of 'American' pride, which seems rarely anything other than ignorant arrogance), followed up by indignation that anyone would want to come from YARDS AWAY to experience a 'chance' to share in this 'prosperity'! If there are any 'aliens' around here (in the sense of strange and impossible to understand), it's economists who illustrate the necessity of exclusionary economic principles for the sake of 'progress'. Now if that industrial nightmare ain't the deadest fucking horse ever, the carcass still being propped up and waved in everyone's face while the innocently (read, ignorantly) prosperous middle class wears brain-melting perfumes...

I think it's great. I'm just wondering if the Canadian non-natives have the same stick up their asses that the citizens of the United States would if our native population started booming. The Canadians struck me as a more accepting humane people, so I'd have to say no on that one. As for Mexican immigration, why fight the flow of the future? All projections say that hispanics will be the largest ethnic group (including whites) in the USA in the next century. Now if we could just figure out some way to get them the money and take it out of the hands of the white capitalist pricks...

It's about time a native population "boomed" instead geting boomed. Mexican immigration is fine by me, I am an immigrant myself. Is that not what this country was founded on?

Anti BIotics and healthcare, as well as welfare and food staples of modern agro industry/capitalism have allowed the population to boom all over the world. What is so special about Canadian Native populations growing too? I think Mexicans are cool, my girlfriends dad is from Mexico as well as many friends. I think I need to learn Spanish, thats what needs to happen

Fuck-vato-ing great, holmes.... Let the gringo-NAFTA-greenbacks go to la chingada-hell; taco-hell...Mexican girls are our sacred vagina-virgins, we should drop our chili-dongos at their feet. The more wet-backs cross over, the better for the morality of the white-backs. Once you go brown, you take the white devil's crown!

Unfortunately, I'm not up to date on the demographics of our neighboor to the north. And Mexican immigration: Do you mean people immigrating to Mexico, or Mexicans immigrating elsewhere? Either way, I think we need more Mexicans here in Tallahassee; I don't think there are more than 10 in the whole place. Just kidding. I wouldn't mind having more Mexican friends. I wouldn't mind immigrating to Mexico.

It's not irreversible. Stop the bullshit with picking up illegals and driving them back in an air-conditioned car, so they can try to sneak across again the next night. Make a real border, like every other civilized country, with fences, mines, and guns. What the fuck good does a quota do if we don't enforce it?

Booming relative to who? The population size of white people? Do they get questioned on how many babies they have? Boomimg means they should get more of their lands back and not be measured on their population density according to the geographics of 'reserves'-which should not be used to measure a 'boom'...boom?..big deal! Immigration reversibility

The most obvious direction this question is leading us is toward the idea that the U.S. will be over taken from the North and the South. It's good that people are surviving longer and through harsh conditions, but it raises the question of where will everybody live when the continent is overpopulated. I think the rich dominant culture/s at the time will find a place for their elite to live securely, while systematically erraticating the poor minority culture/s to ease the problem of overcrowding.

Mexican Immigration? Just too bad for those that stand against us! Most of this land has always been Mexican,we have worked it and turned it into what it is know and yet the powers that be keep on trying to deny us what is rightfully ours. There is no immigration, we are just claiming what is rightfully ours!!!

I think that it is a good thing for the native peoples and good for Canada as it is underpopulated and the European poulation base is at zero growth.

I think that sex is healthy for the body. Let us humans reproduce in peace... Whether Canadian or Mexican, more power to them! Does it really matter, the only reason it matter (in my opinion) is because the United States becomes so preoccupied with the fact that it is scared of being over populated by a race that might actually have some serious political as well as social impact on its damned corrupted country. Ni dijas eso porque si no el big brother te va a regaņar!? Too much bullshit needs to be dealt with, maybe this coming of humans can actually change the fucked up shit we have created and put up with for so long. Y toda via no acavamos las peleas, esas personas las acavaran....

I think it's great that the Canadian Native population is booming. This in fact shows us that there is a decrease in violence and other major causes of death among the Aboriginal population. I do believe that more money should be allocated towards educating aboriginal youth since we will be the future generation and while todays baby boomers take care of themselves we will be pressured into such things as paying more tax to support the boomers in there old age.

I think we have each others blood by now and need to come to terms with it...and heading for a "brown" humanity, which i think is good and evolutionary...Mexican immigration doesn't threaten me...this country is supposed to welcome anyone, right? "mexicans " lived here long ago, so why would immigration(back) seem like such a big deal...
